Notre Dame Heroes #37

Heroes are handy and helpful. They are indispensible.


James Coleman is Notre Dame's resident handyman. He is constantly tinkering and fixing essentials needed to ensure that the school functions at the highest level. Besides being an invaluable asset to the school, James is a wonderful human being with a warm, giving temperament who truly loves Notre Dame. It is his self-sacrifice and dedication that makes him a true Notre Dame Hero.

SPECIAL NOMINATION!

      Notre Dame Principal Theresa Francis has been nominated Distinguished Principle of the year.  She was nominated by her peers making this is a great honor, especially for all of us at Notre Dame. She will be honored at the Diocesan Distinguished Educator Recognition Dinner on April 26th. Congratulations, Mrs. Francis!

Notre Dame Heroes #36

Heroes are ready to tackle any situation. They dive in head-first with all of their heart and passion.

Amanda Powalish has been an awesome addition to the Bridges Department. She has show an incredible heart for our students and goes above and beyond to help them in any way possible. Notre Dame students admire and respect Amanda for her fair and fun approach to teaching. She is always working to make those around her better and is the ultimate team player. She is insightful, witty, and ready to use inventive, creative approaches to reach challenging students. Her passion for education makes her a true Notre Dame Hero.

Notre Dame Heroes #35

Heroes are resorceful. They inspire trust through their earnest dedication toward success.


Kay Barry is essential to the operation of The Notre Dame School. It is her fundraising efforts that allow Notre Dame to provide such a quality education for such a reasonable tuition. Besides her ability to reach out to the community, Kay fills the Notre Dame halls with her kindess. For her years of remarkable service and dedication, Kay is the embodiment of a Notre Dame Hero. 

Notre Dame Heroes #34

Heroes are energetic, full of enthusiasm and life. They motivate through their positive outlook on life.



Helen Torres has been a major help to the Bridges Department, bringing her youthful exuberance to all of her students. She is an incredible dancer and choreographer and her productions are crowd-pleasers that leave students and parents beaming with joy. Her innovative ideas have led to successful Friday activities and she is always striving to become a better teacher. For all of her creativity, Helen has a good heart that makes her a real Notre Dame Hero.

Notre Dame Heroes #33

Heroes are friendly and inviting. They radiate an aura of positivity.


Brenda Foster is an incredible human being. She is an amazing job coach who takes pride in her students’ marvelous work. Always happy and pleasant, Brenda instantly cheers up all she comes in contact with. Despite her amazing accomplishments, she remains humble and down to Earth. For her overwhelming kindness, Brenda is an excellent Notre Dame Hero.

Heroes have answers and when they don't, they go to any length to find them.


Anne Rush is a vital part of Notre Dame. Her careful and organized work ensures that all paperwork and payments are filed efficiently and effectively. Her bright smile is a welcome sight and Anne is always polite and kind to both students and staff alike. Her amazing acumen is only one reason why Anne is a Notre Dame Hero to everyone.

Heroes are team-players. They work well with others and are always ready to lend a helping hand.

Jana Rebone is a remarkable part of the vocational department. With a cheery disposition and years of teaching experience, Jana makes everyone around her better. As a mother of a Notre Dame student, Jana knows the perfect balance of discipline and is an incredible encouraging force to her students. It is her willingness to assist under any circumstances that make Jana a real Notre Dame Hero.

Heroes are empathetic. They relate to individuals on a deep level and use this relationship to inspire success.


Donna Maguire is an inspiration to her students and a role-model to her fellow teachers. Her caring nature leads to a classroom that feels supported, stable, and strong. As a model teacher, Donna's lessons are both focused and filled with high-interest, relevant information. Her diligence in teaching to the whole student makes her a model Notre Dame Hero.
